Hej

Chalerm: Reds must stay cool
Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yubamrung on Monday called on red shirt leaders to dissuade their followers from persistent harassment of Democrat leader Abhisit Vejjajiva.
Mr Chalerm said he had telephoned red-shirt co-leader Jatuporn Prompan and Kwanchai Praipana, head of the Khon Rak Udon (Udon Lovers) club, and told them that the incident in Samut Prakan on Saturday morning where the red shirts foiled Mr Abhisit’s meeting with supporters of the Democrat Party should not happen again.
He said if such incidents keep on happening, the majority of people will not accept the red-shirt United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) movement. It will also worry him and the government. Everyone should have the right to go anywhere in the country and expression of political views and opposition against the former prime minister must be limited within the framework of the law.
He urged Democrat Party spokesman Thepthai Senpong to contact him directly, as there was no need to submit requests on paper, when the opposition wants to ask for police protection at future political rallies.
On the investigation into the 2010 bloody crackdown on red-shirt protesters, UDD supporters should have been satisfied as some progress had been made, Mr Chalerm said.
He called on the red shirts to stay cool and wait for the court’s decision.
