Bangkok, Feb 10 - A bomb exploded near a rally site in the capital, wounding at least six people today as anti-government protesters marching to collect donations to help farmers.
An explosive device exploded near Mahakan Fort on Ratchdamnoen Avenue. Six people were wounded, two of them listed in serious condition.
The violence took place as Suthep Thaugsuban, leader of the People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC), led his supporters marching to Thonglor, Ekamai areas amid tight security before returning to the protest site at Asoke intersection.
Two city cleaners seriously hurt in explosion
Bangkok: -- Two city cleaners were seriously injured in an explosion in Pranakorn district on Monday, when they reportedly swept up abandoned ping-pong bombs.
Four others cleaners, working at a road island near Phan Fah Bridge in the district, were also wounded in the blast, which occurred at about 11am.
The two suffered shrapnel wounds to their faces and legs. They are now receiving treatment at Charoenkrung Pracharat Bridge.
A police commander, Pol Maj Gen Wallop Prathummuang said one of them might have touched one of two ping-pong bombs with their broom, causing it to explode.
The site was a used as a rally site of the anti-government campaigns.
